Why we exist

A diagnosis should never mean facing it alone

For too many families, the hardest part of cancer is not the disease โ€” it is the fear, the cost and the loneliness. Makiswmed exists to change that. We turn fear into knowledge, cost into care, and loneliness into community.

  • Treatment that doesn't bankrupt families โ€” our fund covers chemotherapy, scans and medication for those who cannot pay.
  • Detection that saves lives โ€” free screenings catch cancer early, when it is most treatable.
  • A hand to hold โ€” navigators and peer circles walk beside every patient, every step.

Our Mission

To provide support, education, advocacy, and financial assistance to cancer patients and their families while promoting awareness, early detection, and access to quality care.

Our Vision

A future where cancer is caught early, treated with dignity, and survived by far more of us โ€” a world where a diagnosis is met not with despair, but with a community ready to fight alongside you.

Our story

It began with one promise
that could not be kept

In 2009, our founder Dr. Adaeze Maduike lost a young patient โ€” not because her cancer was untreatable, but because her family could not afford the treatment in time. That night, a promise was made: that no family in our reach would ever again have to choose between care and survival.

What started as a small support circle of survivors and volunteers in Abuja has grown into a national movement โ€” 36 partner hospitals, 1,250 volunteers and tens of thousands of lives touched. But our heart remains exactly where it began: beside the patient, holding on, refusing to let go.

A message from our founder

A vision for hope, healing
and access to care

Hello everyone, my name is Dr. William Makis. I am a physician, cancer researcher, and patient advocate who has dedicated years of my life to helping people facing some of the most difficult health challenges imaginable.

Over the years, I have worked with thousands of cancer patients around the world. Through my research and patient support efforts involving repurposed medications such as ivermectin, mebendazole, and fenbendazole, I have shared information and guidance with patients seeking additional options in their fight against cancer.

According to my own records and experience, I have helped more than 9,000 cancer patients in their cancer journeys. Every message, every success story, and every life touched has strengthened my belief that patients deserve hope, access to information, and the freedom to explore treatment options with their healthcare teams.

Today, I am excited to share a bigger vision. One of the largest projects I have ever undertaken is the development of a clinic in Florida โ€” a place dedicated to serving patients, advancing research, and providing support for individuals and families affected by cancer.

This vision goes far beyond a building. It is about creating a center of hope, innovation, education, and patient advocacy that can benefit people not only in the United States but across the world.

At the same time, we are launching an NGO with a clear mission:

Our mission "To provide support, education, advocacy, and financial assistance to cancer patients and their families while promoting awareness, early detection, and access to quality care."

Our goal is to help patients access resources, receive educational support, connect with caring communities, and obtain assistance when financial barriers stand in the way of treatment and care.

Today, I am reaching out to all Americans, especially the citizens of the United States, and to compassionate people around the world. We invite you to show your support for this mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, partnerships, or simply sharing our message, your contribution can help us build something that will impact countless lives.

Together, we can give hope where there is fear, support where there is struggle, and opportunity where there are obstacles.

Thank you for believing in this mission, thank you for standing with cancer patients and their families, and thank you for helping us build a brighter future for people around the world. God bless you all.
